In the Name of Love is the title of our programme celebrating love - amorous, maternal, love for a higher principle, love of life, of one's country and of one's fellow-man. Love has always been one of the most powerful Muses inspiring artists across all genres, and although many artistic works portray one-sided love, unrequited love or frustrated love, it is this feeling of love that represents the true essence of our being.
Our November benefit concert is in support of little Adélka Petříková from Kvasice who was born with the very rare Phelan McDermid syndrome, a genetic defect which causes reduced muscle tone, and this has seriously held back Adélka's physical development. The purpose of tonight's concert is to generate the much-needed funds to enable her flat to be adapted for her disabilities.
Performing in this concert are the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra together with the Bohemia Voice vocal quartet, who like to combine various musical styles into one organic whole. The work of this multi-genre vocal group also features elements of swing, gospel, the classics and pop in a vision that unites everyone who is open to understanding the fundamental essence of music. The performance is conducted by Debashish Chaudhuri.
