A2 - CONCERTO FOR THREE HARPSICHORDS

Venue: Zlín Congress Centre  |  Organizer: Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinů, o.p.s.  |

J. S. Bach: Concerto for Three Harpsichords in C Major, BWV 1064
W. A. Mozart: Concerto for Three Pianos in F Major, KV 242
F. Schubert: Symphony No. 9 in C Major,  D 944 "The Great"
Igor Ardashev, Karel Košárek, Michal Mašek - piano
Debashish Chaudhuri - conductor

Born in Calcutta, India, Debashish Chaudhuri won 1st prize at the Lausanne  Conducting Competition in 2004, and in 2005 was the first Indian ever to reach the finals of the highly prestigious Conducting Competition in Besancon, France. He currently lives in the Czech Republic, working with Czech and international orchestras.

The keyboard compositions of Bach and Mozart are among the best ever written for these instruments. Both these composers made an exceptional contribution - in both their playing and teaching - to a great advance in keyboard virtuosity and a major revival of interest in these instruments. The beauty of these seldom performed keyboard concertos will be further enhanced for being played by such outstanding pianists as Igor Ardashev, Karel Košárek a Michal Mašek.
