Great choral scenes from the operas Nabucco, Aida, Il Trovatore, Macbeth, Carmen, Lohengrin, and more
The final concert in this subscription series is a spectacular celebration of the art of chorus singing, when the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, one of the most acclaimed European choirs, takes the stage to breathe new life into a selection of opera scenes with its consummate richness of expression and deep musical feeling in a programme featuring some of the best choral music in the canon of world opera.
We’ll be hearing mighty choral pieces from operas by Alexander Borodin, Richard Wagner, Georges Bizet and of course the immortal master of operatic drama Giuseppe Verdi, whose choral scenes, with their dramatic power and melodious beauty, are among the highlights of the opera repertoire and still hold their fascination today. Conductor Robert Kružík and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic join the Czech Philharmonic Choir under the leadership of their eminent choirmaster Petr Fiala in this visionary musical celebration of the human voice in its most beautiful form.
