At the turn of the calendar year the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic traditionally presents a festive program that reflects the musical legacy of Christmas in its historical and folk form. This year's programme combines works of High Baroque and Classicism with a Czech pastoral work in one harmonious whole under the baton of conductor Zdeněk Klauda, along with the Orchestra's concert masters, four solo vocalists and the Permoník Karviná choir.
We start with works by Bach, Handel, Haydn and Mozart, followed by Jakub Jan Ryba's iconic Czech Christmas Mass, an essential highlight of the seasonal repertoire here.
