The singer Lucie Bílá and pianist Petr Malásek are two exceptional and unmissable artists on the Czech popular music scene today. Lucie Bílá stands out for her remarkable talent, humour and lack of pretentiousness, but she is also known for helping people in genuine need. She has won any number of prestigious awards including the TýTý, Czech Nightingale, Pop Music Academy Awards (formerly Grammies) and many more. She has featured in most of the biggest Czech musicals since the early 1990s, not to mention films and TV programmes, and she was the first female pop singer to perform twice at the Prague Spring festival. Petr Malásek has been working with Lucie Bílá as pianist and producer since 2002, and in 2010 he produced her 'White Christmas' album which won a platinum disc. He writes music for films, TV, serials and theatre. He has been involved in the recording of dozens of albums as a pianist, arranger and producer. The songs in tonight's concert are from the album 'Recitál'.
