The vocal group Fragile is made up of well-known figures from TV serials, theatre and musical productions, and TV shows. In the Czech Republic they have featured on programmes like the The Jan Kraus Show, Breakfast with Nová, Home Alone, Good Morning, Disabled Sportsperson of the Year and many others. Fragile is one of the best 'a cappella' line-ups not only in Slovakia but doubtless in Europe too, performing in the Czech Republic but also in France, Poland and Austria. The group has been voted Music Group of the Year three times - in 2013, 2014 a 2015 - in the TV Personality viewers' survey, and won the Slovak Singers' and Songwriters' Association's Crystal Wing award for Album of the Year in 2013. They even represented Slovakia in Spain at the EXPO 2008 World Exhibition in Zaragoza. Fragile sing impressive and original appealing 'a cappella' arrangements of well-known international rock-pop hits, in other words without any instrumental backing, so all the musicality is created through their voices and singing technique at close quarters with the audience, using instrumental-type vocalisations to sustain the rhythms.
The group's programme tonight covers the work of Czech and international performers such as Queen, Sting, John Lennon, Richard Müller, Jason Mraz, Lorde, The Flying Pickets, Pharrell Williams, Leonard Cohen, The Real Group and others. Among their new pieces are Karel Gott's Lady Carneval, 'Dvě malá křídla tu nejsou' (Killing me Softly) by Fugees and also by Helena Vondráčková, the Irish national song The Parting Glass, Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Fero by the band Elán, Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen, and arrangements of other popular Queen hits. Tonight's programme thus appeals to a wide audience, and all lovers of good music are surely in for a treat.
Their concerts on 3rd and 4th April 2019 are part of the Fragile CZ tour 2019, which follows up last year's successful tour in a number of Czech venues.
