The band, or more precisely the chamber music cabaret Inspektor Kluzó, is a completely unique entity on the Czech music scene. It spans a wide variety of genres from chanson via the blues to jazz, folk, soul and rock.
Their founding members are the pianist and composer Zdeněk Král and the actor, guitarist and composer Tomáš Matonoha, who have been working together for over 20 years in the cult phenomenon Komediograf, in 32 episodes of the Na forbíně TM talk show (of which 16 were broadcast on Czech TV), and the By The Piano entertainment show. They were later joined by the singer Vendula Příhodová, the drummer Ondřej Veselý and bass guitarist Ondřej Homola, thus resulting in a full-on band of five performers with all the bells and whistles.
We can look forward to a concert of engaging songs from chanson to rock ballads and rousing theatrical numbers, the beautiful singing of a finalist in the Voice of CzechoSlovakia talent competition, the humour of the well-known actor and comedian Tomáš Matonoha and the superlative playing of the pianist and composer Zdeněk Král.
The concert also features cabaret acts such as stand-up, skits, sketches, monologue routines, theatre spoof, knockabout and so on. The band themselves put it like this: "We write our stuff in the way we feel it and understand it, so we can enjoy performing it and feel good about it."
