Karel Košárek is currently one of the most sought-after Czech pianists playing with leading orchestras, in solo recitals and chamber music.
On returning from his studies in Dallas, where he obtained the Artist Certificate diploma and the title Master in Music, and was also laureate of the Walter Naumburg competition in New Yorku, he gave recitals in New York, Dallas, Palm Beach, Calgary, Tel Aviv, St Petersburg and Bangkok, as well as concerts in Europe and Japan. He has also appeared at international music festivals and worked with leading orchestras including the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Chamber Philharmonic, the FOK Symphony Orchestra, the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, the St Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, the Sinfonietta Cracovia and many more.
Besides his concerts, it was thanks to him that the Musica Holešov festival came into being, and he is also artistic director there. For his recital he has chosen works by Scarlatti, Beethoven and Martinů, and also some works influenced by jazz.
