In mid-March Zlín welcomes the Janoska Ensemble, the world-famous foursome of mainly Slovak musicians currently wowing audiences around the world. The band was formed in 2013 by three talented Janoška brothers Ondrej (violin), Roman (violin) and František (piano) together with their brother-in-law Julius Darvas (double bass) making up a quartet which soon became widely popular due mostly to their unique approach to classical music in fusion with other forms such as jazz, Latino, pop and ethnic.

Their distinctive musical style features well-known composers' themes in various genres which they put their own stamp on and adapt to their mood, creating their own special "Janoska Style" based partly on the virtuosity of each individual, and partly on their family musical tradition and love of improvisation.

They are joined tonight by their special guest and family member Arpád Janoska, and accompanied by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic in a programme which features novel versions of tunes by Strauss, Piazzolla and Paganini and also original pieces of their own, showcasing the artistry of four outstanding musicians who dazzle audiences with their music and huge creative energy.

At the podium on this occasion is Stanislav Vavřínek, currently Chief Conductor of the Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in Pardubice.
