K1 THE BITTOVÁ PHEMONENON

Venue: Zlín Congress Centre  |  Organizer: Filharmonie Bohuslava Martinů, o.p.s.  |

IVA BITTOVÁ violin and vocals

The opening concert in our chamber series welcomes the world-famous multi-instrumentalist Iva Bittová, queen of the Czech avant-garde, and  one of the most distinctive and acclaimed Czech musicians who has made a name for herself internationally as a much sought-after figure on the alternative scene. A highly versatile singer, violinist and actress, with an unmistakeable musical style, her unbridled spontaneity, improvisation skills and creative free spirit come to the fore in this solo presentation comprising favourite numbers from her rich repertoire.

Iva Bittová’s music ranges from her own versions of folk songs through experimental jazz and rock, to violin variations of classical and opera themes. Her world view and creative spontaneity know no boundaries, which is why she can’t be pigeonholed into any single musical genre,  making every appearance a one-off musical extravaganza.
