FBM's 70th ANNIVERSARY SEASON UNDER WAY!

The Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic will be celebrating its 70th anniversary throughout the 2015/2016 season.

Vadim Gluzman, whom we welcome in the opening concert in our Harmonia Moraviae autumn festival, is followed by appearances by the outstanding violinist Pavel Šporcl, world-class pianists Ivo Kahánek and Eugen Indjić, Hungarian trumpet player Gábor Boldoczki  and the soprano Kateřina Kněžíková. Leading the Orchestra will be conductors such as Tomáš Netopil , Leoš Svárovský, Jakub Klecker, Stanislav Vavřínek and Walter Attanasi. Our Chief Conductor Vojtěch Spurný will also appear as the pianist in our Mozart anniversary concert.

The season also features a number of popular concerts with something for everyone to enjoy. Music-goers can look forward to seeing Lucie Bílá, Petr Malásek, Lenka Filipová and her daughter Lenny, the legendary band Olympic, Hradišťan and Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet.

The high point of our celebrations is the Festive Concert on 28th April 2016, in which the world-famous Turkish pianist Fazil Say will perform Saint-Saens's second piano concerto, in a programme which also includes works by František Škroup and Dvořák's sixth symphony. At the podium will be the Orchestra's new Chief Conductor Vojtěch Spurný.
