The violinist Haerim Elizabeth Lee plays solo, with orchestra, and in chamber group in North America, Asia and Europe. She has a strong interest in contemporary works and traditional Korean music, but also likes to combine music with other art forms such as architecture and dance. Originally from Daejeon in South Korea, she moved to America at the age of eight, and gave her first performance with an orchestra at the age of 10. She honed her violin technique under the supervision of notable players and teachers (Jaime Laredo, Joseph Silverstein, Pamela Frank, Miriam Fried, Pinchas Zukerman). She also attended the New England Conservatory, and the Rice University Shepherd School of Music. She is currently completing her doctorate studies at the University of Michigan with David Halen, and has made frequent appearances at festivals mainly in America and Germany. Among her awards is one from the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition in 2014 as a member of the Evita Quartet. She will be accompanied in this concert by the outstanding Romanian pianist Mihai Ungureanu.
