Our "TOP POP" programme tonight features his backing musicians in the timeless image we all recognise, fronted and conducted by Miloš Machek. They are joined by the soprano Hana Škarková, tenor Marek Olbrzymek, saxophonist Antonín Mühlhansl, guitarist Jiří Sova and the male vocals quartet Q VOX. Tonight's special guest is the jazz-rock flute-player and stage personality František Kantor.
This exciting performance presents a colourful array of pop and rock legends whose hits have been specially arranged for this dynamic line-up who, with their soloists, colourful six-part vocals and the orchestra, re-create their characteristic and instantly recognisable sound. The musical arrangements are by Petr Jirák, Aleš Pavlorek and Viktor Kozánek from our orchestra here in Zlín, and the project is the idea of Miloš Machek, who is currently in great demand as a conductor mainly for symphonic rock, pop, gospel, chanson, film and musicals.
Tonight's performance includes golden oldies from earlier well-received concerts as well as completely new arrangements of numbers such as the legendary Oh! Darling (The Beatles), Barcelona (Queen), We Used To Know (Jethro Tull), Gimme! Gimme!, S.O.S., Mamma Mia (ABBA), and Another Brick In The Wall (Pink Floyd).
