Come and hear the electrifying sound of the Philharmonic with the biggest hits from nine albums by Queen, the legendary "queen of rock" band. Its phenomenal front man Freddie Mercury will take us through such brilliant numbers as Barcelona, Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions which, in every respect, are up there with the world's most popular operatic arias. As a 70s and 80s icon, he gradually built up a fan base of all age groups, and was among the first to succeed in debunking the myths around rock and classical music. The part of Freddie Mercury is played by the well known tenor Marek Olbrzymek, and Montserrat Caballé by the soprano Hana Škarková, with Brian May's original guitar sound rendered by the brilliant Jiří Sova. The rich vocals are given the full "live" treatment by the Q VOX guys, who are now regulars in the line-up of artistes brought together by this evening's conductor Miloš Machek.
