Rocksymphony 2 is the latest in our well-received series bringing together the golden oldies of rock with the sound of the symphony orchestra, presented by the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic for rock aficionados and more general pop music fans to whom this unique fusion appeals.
Top of the bill again tonight is one of the best Czech vocalists Marta Jandová, who has also made a name for herself in Germany carving out a successful niche with her rock band Die Happy. She is joined by Václav Noid Bárta, the singer, composer and arranger, who frequently works with top Czech performers. Tonight's line-up, focusing mainly on 70s and 80s hard rock and heavy metal, showcases fresh arrangements of hits by legendary bands like Metallica (The Call of Ktulu), AC/DC (Back in Black), Iron Maiden (The Number of the Beast), Deep Purple (Soldier of Fortune), and Guns n´Roses (November Rain) among others. This line-up does not try to appeal to the older generation, but is aimed at all age ranges of listeners who like a good tune. This fascinating performance visually enhanced by a big screen presentation is conducted by Viktor Kozánek.
