Our fourth Subscription Series C concert has all the makings of an experience not to be missed when the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic get together with Tata Bojs, a band that started out some 30 years ago and have since made themselves a household name on the Czech music scene. Their music has its roots primarily in alternative and progressive rock, but their work often crosses these boundaries by branching out into other genres. The band has made nine albums to date, notably the studio album Futuretro in 2000 which really put them on the map, then Biorytmy (2002), Nanoalbum (2004) and Ležatá osmička (2011). Our programme tonight at the Zlín Congress Centre features a cross-section of the band's work in a unique pairing with the sound of a symphony orchestra, including Marek Doubrava's fresh arrangements of numbers like 'Filmařská', 'Usínací', 'Radioamatér', 'Toreadorská Otázka' and 'Pěšáci'. The Tata Bojs' guests are the singer Klára Nemravová, the percussionist Tomáš Neuwerth, and the Clarinet Factory wind players. Wielding the baton is the Zlín philharmonic's Principal Conductor Tomáš Brauner.
