AG Flek, who come from Zlín, are a legendary band who succeeded in laying the firm foundations of Czech folk rock in the eighties. The band was formed in 1977 and won over many listeners across the age groups thanks largely to its many appearances at the prestigious Porta festival. Over the past 40 years and more, AG Flek have played countless gigs and released several albums such as 'Blázni umírají nadvakrát', 'Dohrála hudb'" and 'Tramtárie'. Their new album 'Podnohama Zem' released last year has been nominated for a prestigious Cena Anděl award.
AG Flek's concert tonight with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic follows on the heels of their successful collaboration last year with the South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic, and includes a selection from the rich repertoire of the band, whose unmistakeable profile has been shaped by the likes of Ivo Viktorin, Karel Martykán, Blanka Táborská, Josef Šobáň and David Velčovský. Tonight's conductor is Tomáš Brauner.
