Broadway Meets Broadway is where top-class singers from the famous New York Broadway come together on stage at the Congress Centre with their counterparts from the Prague Broadway Theatre to showcase the very best of that musical genre, with songs from Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, Mamma Mia, Chicago, My Fair Lady, The Wizard of Oz and many more.
Soloist LaKisha Jones is a finalist in the famed American Idol talent show, which resulted in her being offered a role in the New York production of The Color Purple. Gary Mauer, a star of American musicals, has performed in hit productions such as Phantom of the Opera, Show Boat, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story and Sweeney Todd.
Michaela Gemrotová is a successful singer in opera and musicals, having sung in the musicals Tarzan, Angélique, The Man in the Iron Mask Casanova, Evita and Phantom of the Opera. Jan Kříž, twice winner of the Thalia Prize, and repeatedly celebrated as one of the foremost talents of the Czech musical scene, has played leading roles in Grease, Robin Hood, Mefisto, The Jungle Book, Osmý světadíl, Les Enfants du Paradis, Joan of Arc, Touha, The Witch's Hammer and Jack the Ripper.
At the podium with the Zlín philharmonic orchestra is the American conductor Larry Blank.
