The Talentinum international festival for young concert artists provides promising artists with regular opportunities to play with an orchestra and thus gain invaluable experience and demonstrate to the world their performing expertise. The festival was first staged in May 1972 in what was then Gottwaldov and has since established a firm and integral place for itself on the local cultural scene. In the fifty years of its existence it has played host to a whole series of outstanding musicians, and May 2022 marks its 26th season.

Our final Subscription Series B concert also showcases young talented artists with the Zlín Congress Centre tonight hosting the pianist Natalie Schwamová, who has given highly acclaimed concerts with a whole range of orchestras both in this country and abroad. Tonight the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic accompanies her in a performance of Maurice Ravel's G major piano concerto.

An equally fine experience is promised by the presence of the cellist Natálie Trávníčková, a laureate of a whole host of Czech and foreign performing competitions. This young artist, who has taken part in masterclasses by such figures as Steven Isserlis, Petr Nouzovský and Raphael Wallfisch, plays the solo part in Bohuslav Martinů's Cello Concerto no. 1.

Last but not least is the violinist Eduard Kollert, currently studying at the prestigious Reina Sofia School of Music in Madrid. His outstanding performing skills have been admired by audiences in Russia, Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Jordan and Japan, among other countries. Tonight he plays Henri Vieuxtemps's second violin concerto.
The concert is conducted by the 26-year-old Ondřej Soukup, who studies at the prominent Royal College of Music in London.
