L. VAN BEETHOVEN, R. SCHUMANN, F. CHOPIN
Soloist: EUGEN INDJIĆ piano

Eugen Indjić is a world-ranking pianist whose talent has been admired and promoted by such luminaries as Leonard Bernstein, Artur Rubinstein and Emil Gilels to name but a few. He has won some of the most highly-rated piano competitions - Warsaw, Leeds and Tel Aviv, and has performed with the top orchestras in the world's most prestigious venues in Europe, the US and Asia with conductors of the calibre of Leonard Bernstein, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Valery Gergiyev, Rafael Kubelik, Erich Leinsdorf, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Georg Solti and more. Music-goers in Zlín will certainly remember his sublime rendition of Brahms's second piano concerto here in spring 2011. The pianist has a special affection for our country, and gives quite frequent concerts here in addition to teaching young pianists at our music academies.

His recital tonight includes works by Beethoven, Schumann and Chopin, which have been the mainstay of his work and of a number of his CDs.
