The music of the French big screen has been largely overlooked in our series of subscription concerts to date, so we are happy to put that right with Aleš Pavlorek's arrangements of numbers from the popular films Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob, Piti piti pa, Fantomas, Flic ou voyou, Itinéraire d'un enfant gâté, Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire and a whole series of other numbers written by the likes of the great François de Roubaix, Michel Magne, Georges Delerue and Vladimir Cosma. The outstanding Czech conductor Stanislav Vavřínek has already initiated a number of similar products, such as the Ennio Morricone & Luboš Fišer evenings, or Barrandov versus Hollywood.
